Your wedding day shouldn’t be an experiment.
Your Wedding Day Shouldn’t Be an Experiment
One of the biggest misconceptions in wedding planning is that all vendors are created equal.
They’re not.
The wedding industry is huge, and it’s growing every single day. New photographers launch businesses, DJs buy equipment, bakers perfect recipes, and coordinators step into the wedding world with dreams of helping couples create beautiful celebrations. And honestly? I understand the appeal completely. It is a wonderful industry to be part of.
There is something incredibly special about being invited into one of the most important days of someone’s life.
But here’s the reality: experience matters.
After more than 15 years in weddings, I’ve learned that one of the most valuable things I bring to my couples isn’t just timelines, checklists, or organization. It’s knowing the people behind the businesses.
I know which vendors answer emails promptly.
I know which vendors communicate clearly.
I know which vendors show up early instead of just on time.
I know which vendors can handle a last-minute crisis without missing a beat.
And unfortunately, I also know which vendors struggle with reliability.
That’s not something you learn from a website, a social media page, or a price list.
You learn it from standing shoulder to shoulder with vendors on wedding days, year after year.
One of my favorite things about this industry is the friendships I’ve built along the way. Over the years, I’ve become friends with florists, DJs, photographers, videographers, catering companies, bakeries, rental companies, musicians, chocolatiers, venue owners, venue managers, photo booth companies, and yes—even other coordinators.
The best vendors in this industry all have something in common.
They care.
They care about the couple.
They care about the guest experience.
They care about their reputation.
They care about doing things the right way.
And they work just as hard on wedding day as I do.
When a vendor has years of experience, glowing reviews, strong communication, and a reputation for consistency, you’re not simply paying for a service. You’re paying for peace of mind.
Sometimes couples are tempted by a quote that seems too good to be true.
Sometimes it is.
That lower price may mean less experience. It may mean fewer weddings under their belt. It may mean they haven’t yet encountered the countless challenges that can happen during a wedding day.
There’s nothing wrong with being new.
Every experienced wedding professional was once a beginner.
But your wedding day is not the day you want someone learning at your expense.
Your wedding day isn’t a practice run.
It’s not a test event.
It’s not an opportunity for someone to figure things out as they go.
It’s the day you marry your best friend.
You deserve vendors who have proven themselves. Vendors who show up. Vendors who communicate. Vendors who know how to solve problems before you even know they exist.
One of the greatest advantages of hiring an experienced wedding planner is having someone in your corner who already knows those people.
Someone who can confidently recommend professionals they trust.
Someone who has watched those vendors perform under pressure.
Someone who knows who will answer the phone, who will arrive prepared, and who will work tirelessly to make your day everything you’ve dreamed it would be.
Because at the end of the day, beautiful photos, gorgeous flowers, delicious food, and a packed dance floor all matter.
But reliability?
Reliability is priceless.
And your wedding day should never be an experiment.
